TAKE THE LAST TRAIN TO ..... Well that's it. I've survived my last overnight train trip and I am back in the big city. I spent last night in a four person cabin with three Thai students from Bangkok. Never one to miss an opportunity to converse with today's 'yoof' we got talking about our travels and how I'd come from China etc. "That's amazing," proclaimed the girl in the group. "I wish I had more time to travel. Are you retired?" I kid you not she actually said to me ARE YOU RETIRED!!!!!!! Now I know the fluorescent lighting on the train was non too flattering and my scraped back hair and glasses probably weren't doing me any favors but I had bunches and a backpack for god sake - did she really think I was 65 !!! I guess it's a pretty fitting story to end on and it is indeed time for me to retire (from this trip anyway). Thanks to Andy (Big Man), Nuala (Irish bird) and Antonio (Big Nose, Fattibelly, Cradle snatcher etc) for keeping me company. As always my next trip is never far away and I'm taking applications for traveling companions already. Till then, thanks for logging on and keeping tabs on me, it's been blogging great.
